Rising Damp in Sydney is as destructive as the more common forms of damp and requires very specific attention and treatment.

As opposed to regular dampness, rising damp is a specific condition whereby ground water rises vertically through the pores of a wall structure, leading to deterioration of the solid structure.

When the dampness breeds mould grows! it can also lead to structural damage due to the salts that evaporate from the damp wall surfaces.  They are deposited in the plasterwork around the damp areas. These salts build up and absorb moisture from the air, resulting in further damage to the wall structures.

This situation, when left untreated will damage the base of the affected wall and can affect the structural integrity of the building.
